“It seems to many of us that if we are to avoid the eventual catastrophic world conflict we must strengthen the United Nations as a first step toward a world government with a legislative, executive, judiciary, and police to enforce international laws and keep the peace. To do that of course, we Americans will have to yield up some of our sovereignty. It would take a lot of courage, a lot of faith in the new order. But the American colonies did it once and brought forth one of the most nearly perfect unions the world has ever seen.”

Walter Cronkite

[The quote is from a speech given by Journalist Walter Cronkite upon the acceptance of the Norman Cousins Global Governance Award, presented by the World Federalists Association on October 19, 1999. Click links for video and print versions]

How can any patriotic American read the quote above without becoming angry and concerned, especially when consider the deterioration of freedoms we continue to see today, now more than 13 years since Cronkite’s speech?  What does Mr. Cronkite mean that it would take COURAGE to yield up some of our sovereignty to the United Nations as a “first step toward a world government”? Even more disturbing is that according to Mr. Cronkite, not only would this take courage, but “a lot of faith in the new order”. One must ask, did the idea of sovereignty as nation states originate from a sovereign God, or a world governing body?

At first blush, Americans are tempted to fight using our vote, money, and freedom to assemble and speak our minds. However, once examining the power that has been placed in global organizations like the World Trade Organization, United Nations, International Monetary Fund, and the International Criminal Courts, we quickly become overwhelmed that there is no way these massive trends are going to change direction, thus it is easy to become apathetic. We either keep our nose to the grindstone assuming nothing will change our own plans, or “turn off the news”, and/or pray, “Come Lord Jesus, Come.”

Would it surprise you to know that a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council has been preparing for years for “The Coming One”, and “The Reappearance of the Christ”? What if you found out that this high level member of a UN Council recently hosted the “Festival Week of the New Group of World Servers” in London and New York?

If you are unfamiliar with the Lucis Trust website, and are one of the billions of Christians worldwide who have never been taught this information by any Christian leader or media source, don’t be surprised. Sadly, much of the church has bought into the Darwinian lie that history is “evolving”, rather than it is moving according to the providential will of an omnipotent Divine God. Christians have also lost their ability to be skeptical and discerning about the level of deception around them.

“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.” Matthew 10:16 [NASB]

Let’s look at three items from the Lucis Trust; their version of “the Christ”, a book written by it’s founder, Alice Bailey, and the original name of this major publishing and educational set of institutions. As we go, let’s contrast ideas presented by the Lucis Trust with ideas presented by the most widely distributed and translated book in human history, the Bible.

From the Lucis Trust webpage, “The Coming One”:

“When the times are ripe, the invocation of the masses is strident enough and the faith of those who know is keen enough, then always He has come and today will be no exception to this ancient rule or to this universal law. For decades, the reappearance of the Christ, the Avatar, has been anticipated by the faithful in both hemispheres—not only by the Christian faithful, but by those who look for Maitreya and for the Boddhisattva as well as those who expect the Imam Mahdi.”

From the Bible:

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.” John 14:6

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

From the Lucis Trust, The Reappearance of the Christ:

“Today there is an increasing expectancy regarding the return of the ‘World Teacher’, the Coming One Who will return to lead humanity into a new age and into a heightened consciousness. In fact, some claim that the Christ has already reappeared in physical form and has been “sighted” in various parts of the world. Yet the teachings of the Tibetan Master, given in the books of Alice A. Bailey, make it clear that humanity itself must first produce the conditions in consciousness and in world affairs essential to the eventual physical appearance of the Christ. When a measure of peace has been restored on Earth, when sharing begins to govern economic affairs, and when churches and political groups have begun to clean house, the Christ will then be drawn into the arena of His work.”

From the Bible:

“As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew were questioning Him privately, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are going to be fulfilled?” And Jesus began to say to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. Many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He!’ and will mislead many” Mark 13:3-6

“And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.  Revelations 13:16-17

“Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, “Come here, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed acts of immorality, and those who dwell on the earth were made drunk with the wine of her immorality…and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery, “BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus.” Rev 17:1-2, 5-6

“The merchants of these things, who became rich from her, will stand at a distance because of the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, she who was clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls; for in one hour such great wealth has been laid waste!’…Rev 18:15-17

“Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” Rev 20:4

So if the Biblical account of the “Coming One” and the “Reappearance of the Christ” is different from the descriptions given by the Lucis Trust, is there anything we can learn from information about it’s founder, Alice Bailey, that might explain this difference?

Alice Bailey

“Towards the end of her life Alice A. Bailey somewhat reluctantly agreed to attempt her own autobiography. What finally made her decide to write about her life was a letter from a friend who, she says, felt deeply that “I would really render a service if I could show people how I became what I am from what I was. It might be useful to know how a rabid orthodox Christian worker could become a well-known occult teacher.”

Since Bailey, in the bio presented by the Lucis Trust, left being a “rabid orthodox Christian worker” to become a “well-known occult teacher”, then it should not surprise us to learn that the original name of the Lucis Trust was the Lucifer Publishing Company.

“The Lucis Trust is a non profit service organization incorporated in the United States in 1922 by Alice Bailey and her husband Foster Bailey…Founded as the Lucifer Publishing Company in the early 1920s, the name changed in 1925 to the Lucis Publishing Company.”

As Americans, Christian or otherwise, we must understand the cost of ignorance grows higher and deception grows stronger with each passing month. For this reason, may our motto be that of an ad by the United Negro College Fund in the 1970s; “A mind is a terrible thing to waste”. May we, like the sons of Issachar, be individuals who “understand the times” and “with knowledge”, prayer, and repentance for our own apathy and complacency, seek the wisdom of the Creator who endowed us with these inalienable rights. Then may we draw comfort and encourage in these days, by the words of Paul, who stated in his first letter to the church in Thessalonica, that they were “to serve the true and living God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come [I Thess. 1:10].”

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.” Mark 13:32-33

There has never been a more urgent time to seek “the truth” that “will set you free”(John 8:32) from the guilt of your sins. If we ask his forgiveness, and place our trust in the resurrected “Christ, He, and He alone, will rescue us from the wrath to come”(I Thessalonians 1:9-10). Never follow the occult Christ (II Peter 2:1-9) whom anyone should see is the antithesis of the Biblical Christ, and working with world level government organizations and misleading many!
